Two people died and 37 were injured in the earthquake of 6.5 degrees on the Richter scale that shook the peninsula of Peloponnese in the south-west of Greece, this Sunday (8) informed the Greek authorities.
The victims are a man of 56 years and an elderly of 88. Both lost their lives in the collapse of their homes.
The Greek Minister of Interior, Prokopis Pavlopulos, said the tremor demolished 50 buildings in various localities of the region and that "the damage was limited" taking into account the magnitude of the shock.
The earthquake, recorded at 15.25 (local time), happened almost one year after the devastating forest fires that left over 60 dead in the Peloponnese.
